Terms & Policies

• Please make checks payable in U.S. funds to VFPG. There will be a $30.00 service charge for returned checks. VFPG reserves the right to prosecute bad checks pursuant to the maker's State's Bad Check Laws. VISA, MC and American Express are accepted.
• Publisher reserves the right to hold advertiser liable under the prevailing State's laws regarding Joint & Severally Liability for such monies as are due and payable to Publisher.
• VFPG will not be responsible, nor will any credits be given, for advertising errors not reported after publication of the first issue.
• VFPG will not make adjustments for errors that do not materially affect the value of the advertisement.
• The maximum liability VFPG will assume for any advertisement (production errors, etc.) is the total amount paid by the advertiser and/or advertising agency for the advertisement.
• A position request is not accepted, nor is position ever guaranteed or implied except for stated preferred positions bearing special rates.
• Agency discount (commission) will be forfeited if not paid within stated terms.
• All past due invoices are subject to a finance charge equal to 1.5% per month (18% A.P.R.) of outstanding balance.
• All past due invoices will be subject to "Short Rate." Any past due invoice(s) will be recalculated to the higher amount due for the frequency actually printed. "Short Rate" adjustments will also be made for any change (downward) in frequency agreement originally contracted for, either written or verbal.
• Creditor reserves the right to employ a collection agency and/or attorneys to recover past due balances. Therefore, such accounts will be subject to a reasonable attorney/collection fee equal to 30 percent of the outstanding balance.
• By submitting any contract/insertion order or request for advertisement, the individual signing said order form attests to the fact they are authorized to place the order on behalf of the titled entity, and further acknowledges they are an authorized agent of the company.

Blind Box Service available
Clients requesting a Blind Box Service will be charge a fee of $30 upon the first issue.

Classified Headings
No special headings permitted. When no heading is requested, we will use our own judgment in classifying an ad. Headings are detailed by publication and found on our rate card for your reference.

Commissions and Discounts

Recognized advertising agencies, providing camera-ready materials as specified, receive 15% commission on gross billing, paid within 30 days. Agency discount will not apply to line ads. Pubset ads and production charges are non-commissionable.

Policies

• VFPG reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertising for any reason, any time. VFP reserves the right to remove from selected advertisements containing content that subscribers have deemed objectionable or fraudulent.
• VFPG is not responsible for errors due to illegible, low quality or incorrectly formatted copy. VFPG is not responsible for errors in camera ready advertisements.
• Advertisements that replicate editorial content must be clearly labeled "Advertisement" and VFP may label such copy.
• Any advertising errors must be reported to VFPG upon the publication of the first issue in which the advertisement is scheduled to appear.
• The Client and its Agency, if applicable, each represent that any and all advertising submitted complies with all appropriate laws and regulations and does not violate the rights of, and is not harmful to, any person, corporation or other entity. As part of the consideration to induce VFP to publish such advertisement, the Client and its Agency, if applicable, each agrees together and severally to indemnify and save harmless VFP, together with their employees and representatives, against all liability, loss, damage, and expense of any nature, including attorney's fees, arising out of any claims for libel, invasion of privacy, copyright or trademark infringement and/or any other claim or suit that may arise out of the copying, printing, publishing, distribution or transmission of such advertisement.
• All cancellations must be in writing and received prior to issue closing date.
• Cancellations during any ad schedule will be subject to a "Short-Rate," as noted below and payment is due within 30 days of invoice.
• All issues relating to advertising will be subject to the laws of the State of Pennsylvania.

Production Charge
The publication will typeset advertisements in most regular typefaces upon request. Typesetting fee is 10% of the one-time ad cost shown. There is a two (2) change and proof maximum. For each additional change and proof, there is a 5% typesetting fee of the one-time ad cost. Ads requiring resizing, require a production charge. Special requests will be billed to the advertiser and/or advertising agency at the then prevailing rates. Minor copy changes (10 word maximum) for subsequent issues are made at no additional expense. When time permits, display ad proofs are sent for approval prior to publication. If a proof is not confirmed before the publication goes to print, we will presume that the ad is correct and it will run as it appears in the proof.

Administration Fees
A 2% Administration Fee will be charged on each transaction to cover the cost of administrative expenses, materials, postage, and collection efforts. The Administration Fee will be waived for clients electing to pre-pay. Pre-payment is defined as receiving payment prior to the scheduled closing date, which is the last possible date to place an order or make changes to an existing order.

Production Materials
Preferred method is Acrobat 4.0 PDF version 1.3 files. Fonts and images must be embedded. No OPI or ICC Profiles. Bitmapped or grayscale images for B/W ads. CMYK images for ads that contain any color. All images must be saved as 300 DPI @ 100% of the finished size. Native files can be supplied as Macintosh QuarkXpress 6.0, Adobe Photoshop CS4 or Adobe Illustrator CS4. Screen/printer fonts and images must be collected. Image files (pictures/logos) must be saved as TIFF, EPS and/or PDF. Please indicate the publication in which the ad is being placed in your subject line.

Word Counting and Style
Counting Words - Two initials are considered one word, each abbreviation is considered one word, and figures consisting of a dollar sign and five numerals or less are considered one word. If you use a post office box, P.O. is one word, box is one word and the number of box is one word. Cities and states consisting of two words or more are considered one word: i.e., "New York" and "Salt Lake City." Zip code is considered one word and must appear in all ads containing an address. Internet or e-mail address count as three words each. Telephone numbers with area code are considered one word. No charge for normal punctuation. When blind box service is requested for replies, the words "Box______, c/o (magazine name)" are counted as three additional words.

Style - Each ad involving a position available must begin with its geographical location: i.e., State/City or both. All classified ads are set solid with the first two lead words set in bold caps. No other type variations are permitted. No illustrations or borders.
